Dear Borough Residents,

As of September 8, 2026, Madison & Vicinity Fire Company no longer serves as the Borough's designated fire protection provider.

​

As of September 8, 2026, Sewickley Township Volunteer Company No. 1 will serve as the primary fire protection provider for Madison Borough.

​

It was brought to our attention over a year ago by residents in the borough regarding their insurance being dropped or increased significantly.  It was found that the ISO score for Madison & Vicinity Fire Company was at a 10. This is the lowest score available.  ISO is the rating provided to insurance companies based on the score of the fire department.

​

The decision was made by the Madison Borough Council as part of its responsibility to ensure that residents, businesses, and property owners continue to have reliable fire protection and emergency response services.
